- ➤ Corpus Christi Animal Care Services introduced Vixen, a 3-year-old brown Rhodesian Ridgeback—Redbone Coonhound mix who is spayed and weighs about 58 lbs, as KRIS 6's Pet of the Week. Community members can visit the shelter Monday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to meet her. Action 10 News
- ➤ The annual Nueces County Junior Livestock Show is underway in Robstown with hundreds of young competitors — it began on Saturday with a horse show and will run through Sunday, Jan. 18. The event supports youth leadership in agriculture and homemaking, evolving since 1936. Action 10 News
- ➤ The City will host its first Litter Critter cleanup of 2026 on Padre Island Saturday, Jan. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic control will be in place along Windward Drive near Whitecap Boulevard, and residents should drop off allowed bulky items (cardboard recycling is not available).
