EDUCATION NEWS

  • At the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, students display impressive ag mech projects including a storage house with a greenhouse built by ninth-grader Alexa Garrett and a love bookshelf by fourth-grader Summer Garcia. The ag mech silent auction begins today at 8 a.m. and runs until Saturday at 4 p.m.  KRIS 6 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Texas Historical Commission will take control of Presidio La Bahía from the Diocese of Victoria for $8.5 million at 10 a.m. on January 28 in Corpus Christi, a move that preserves its historic legacy with planned new exhibits ahead of Texas’ Bicentennial.  KRIS 6 News
  • Corpus Christi’s graffiti cleanup crew removed vandalism from 1,667 sites in 2025, finishing 90% before residents reported issues. The team used proactive patrols and collaborated with police — a coordinated effort to maintain neighborhood appeal.  KRIS 6 News
