Good morning, Corpus Christi.

Families celebrated Lunar New Year at the Texas Museum of Asian Cultures and Education Center this weekend.

The event featured drumming, a lion dance, and storytelling to share Asian traditions with local visitors.

Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship pastor Don Leavell grew up in segregated East Texas and founded his multi-ethnic church in 1986—a place that now unites diverse community members and marks Black History Month as a time to remember the past and build a shared future.

A Corpus Christi mother said that education freedom accounts could help families afford specialized services for disabled students when traditional schools fall short (a proposal that might expand local education options if adopted).

Health officials warned that swimmers in Corpus Christi should cover and promptly wash open wounds after entering coastal waters as rising temperatures will increase Vibrio bacteria risks.
