- ➤ Dozens gathered at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery today to honor Army Sergeant Dennis Michael Anderson, a decorated Vietnam & Kuwait War veteran with no known family. The cemetery requested the community to attend to give him a proper farewell. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ A man working on stadium lights in Odem was shocked by an electrical current and a school nurse used an AED before he was taken to a hospital. KIII-TV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A Port Aransas artist is creating custom beach hearts at Horace Caldwell Pier to benefit the Amos Rehabilitation Keep (ARK) that rescues coastal wildlife. The hearts sell for $50 and will be available until Friday as couples admire the designs on Valentine's Day. KIII-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Tuloso-Midway ISD will begin construction on a new junior high school for seventh and eighth graders on a 40-acre site secured through eminent domain. Construction starts in April and classes are set to begin in fall 2028. KIII-TV
- ➤ On Friday, West Oso High School students took part in a career fair with KRIS 6 News where they practiced on-camera reporting and behind-the-lens photography + gained a real look at journalism careers in our community. KRIS 6 News
