- ➤ St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church offered a drive-through Ashes to Go service on Wednesday morning at Freedoms Fitness parking lot on Airline and SPID — letting busy neighbors receive a blessing and quick prayer during Lent. Action 10 News
- ➤ P.A.A.C was awarded $500K to support a spay and neuter program that benefits local pet owners and improves animal health — the funds will help control stray populations in our community. KIII-TV
- ➤ Our Lady of Perpetual Help launched its annual drive-thru fish fry fundraiser (at 5830 Williams Drive) offering fish, shrimp, and combo plates with extras to support school operations. The event continues every Friday during Lent until March 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Action 10 News

- ➤ When the national 'Mrs. Doubtfire' tour stopped Tuesday at the Hilliard Center, 10-year-old Vivian Atencio returned to her second home in Corpus Christi and showcased her musical theater talent as Natalie Hillard. Action 10 News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A maritime expert said tanker ships to bring water to Corpus Christi are not economically viable because port facilities are built for oil and gas export and upgrading infrastructure would be costly (raising prices). Local efforts instead focus on long-term water supply via desalination and recycled wastewater. KRIS 6 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Robstown’s local water district recorded a second arsenic reading from a Jan. 29 sample that exceeded the federal limit (10 ppb), and state regulators say a quarterly violation will be issued soon to protect the 13,000 residents served. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ An AEP contractor began lane closure work on Ocean Drive on Feb. 18 between the 4200 block and Ocean View Place + another project starting Feb. 23 between the 3300 block and Ocean Way Street will keep lanes closed until March 3, urging drivers to exercise caution. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ A new phase of Yorktown Boulevard reconstruction began today and will continue through Wed, March 18 to improve the road with detour routes maintaining access for neighborhoods. City officials say the project, funded by a 2020 voter-approved bond, is set to complete in 2027. KRIS 6 News
