- ➤ Nueces County unveiled its new animal care facility today in Corpus Christi with 32 dog kennels and 22 cat kennels; local leaders and rescue groups joined the ribbon-cutting, and the facility is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. + closed for lunch from 12 to 1 p.m. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ A total lunar eclipse will turn the moon blood red on Tuesday, Mar. 3 for local skywatchers, lasting several hours with totality (about one hour of full red color). Experts note the event offers a unique chance to enjoy this rare celestial phenomenon. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright discussed South Texas water troubles today and called for more funding for technology, saying the region is a beachhead of American energy leadership. He stressed the need to address local water issues as energy demands grow. KIII-TV
