ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Coastal Bend drivers can use the free AutoCheck vehicle program by Texas A&M University & Corpus Christi to reduce air pollution and improve car safety. Appointments and events are held monthly in Nueces County with qualifying repairs covered up to $600. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ Three Rivers officials are negotiating with the Nueces River Authority to purchase reverse-osmosis treated water from a planned desalination plant on Harbor Island to ease drought effects on local farms and the city’s 1,400 water customers. The initiative is in its early stages. KRIS 6 News
