ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Port Aransas police are investigating a fatal golf cart crash after officers responded at 7:20 a.m. on Saturday to a wellness check on Private Road B — they found the body of a 52-year-old Houston man who likely suffered a head injury from crashing into a tree — and are gathering more details of the accident. - ➤ The Welder Fire burned down the home of a local baseball player's brother in Sinton—he said he helped save what he could before the house was lost. KIII-TV
- ➤ A train derailed Sunday afternoon just north of Odem along US-77 and officials reported no injuries or hazardous chemicals were involved. KIII-TV
- ➤ Firefighters are battling multiple blazes in Orange Grove and Sandia as the Road Runner Fire is 90% contained and three unoccupied homes have been destroyed. KIII-TV
- ➤ Local fire resources are battling an Orange Grove brush fire today + no injuries have been reported. KIII-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Windy and dry conditions have led officials to impose burn bans, with Corpus Christi banning outdoor burning on beaches and parks until March 23 and Nueces County until April 13. Certified managers may still conduct prescribed burns to reduce wildfire risk — residents are asked to report any suspicious smoke — when conditions allow. Caller Times
