- ➤ A 28-acre brush fire broke out near the Steel Dynamics Plant along Highways 89 and 188 Saturday evening at about 5:30 p.m., possibly started by kids playing with fireworks, and fire crews from Sinton + Odem and Taft contained the blaze in 45 minutes while sheriff’s officials decide on charges.
