  • Corpus Christi 911 dispatcher Linda Campbell was honored today after guiding Ernest Flores through CPR on his pregnant wife showing signs of pre-eclampsia, saving both her and their unborn baby (a healthy girl now 2-month-old).  Action 10 News
  • Bob Hall Pier remains open as crews begin major work on a new restaurant, concession stand, parking lot, and road repairs near Padre Balli Offices & handicapped access. County officials say construction on the dining area will start soon and admission fees will be charged by the end of May.  Action 10 News
  • Corpus Christi Whataburger is collecting $1 donations in April to support military children through scholarships, mentorship and college connections. The drive will help provide opportunities for service families in the community.  KIII-TV
  • KRIS 6 News has been chosen to join a statewide investigative journalism partnership led by ProPublica and Texas Tribune and will spend the next year with other newsrooms reporting on state and federal moves to limit local control (established in 1956), earning honors for broadcast excellence.  KRIS 6 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Corpus Christi Ballet is preparing to stage The Little Mermaid next weekend at Selena Auditorium. The performance will feature local dancers, over 200 costumes & original choreography from Julie Green designed to showcase the story’s transition from sea to land.  KIII-TV

  • School of Science and Technology will host a district-wide job fair on April 18, offering on-site interviews for teaching and staff positions from pre-K to 12 at SST Early Elementary (3601 Saratoga Boulevard) from 10 a.m. to noon.  KIII-TV
  • Thousands of Texas students are competing in Corpus Christi this week to showcase trade skills in construction and healthcare as they vie for a state title; the event connects participants with industry partners for hands-on learning and real-world certifications.  Action 10 News

  • Residents have reduced water usage while industrial plants used more water last year since the city did not set mandates, City Manager Peter Zanoni said. The city is working with industries to create a seasonal water baseline for managing potential emergencies.  Action 10 News
