- ➤ An island mega garage sale spanning more than 70 blocks begins at 8 a.m. today and runs until 5 p.m. Local residents can explore the large sale area to shop for various items. KIII-TV
- ➤ Corpus Christi residents can enjoy a busy Coastal Bend weekend with seasonal events including an Egg Hunt at Water’s Edge Park from noon to 2 p.m.—Earth Day Bay Day at Heritage Park runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Texas State Museum is on from noon to 5 p.m. Additional events include a pet adoption event, a Padre Island BBQ Beach Bash and mega garage sale, a custom car and bike show, an art literacy program, a Dracula ballet performance today with another showing tomorrow, and a WigOut fundraiser tonight at K Space Contemporary. - ➤ A groundbreaking ceremony Thursday marked the final stage of reconstruction for the Port Royal Ocean Resort and Conference Center on Mustang Island nearly eight years after Hurricane Harvey damaged the property. Construction will begin on Monday, April 14 with plans to open a renovated building (42 units including a restaurant, bar, gift shop, offices and a ballroom) in 2026. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ Roxanne Palacios pleaded guilty to charges from a wrong-way crash on Harbor Bridge in November 2022 that killed two people and seriously injured another driver—she received a sentence of seven years on each count with credit for time served after agreeing to a plea deal. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Roxanne Palacios pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter charges and was sentenced to seven years in prison on April 11—her wrong-way driving on Harbor Bridge on Nov. 2, 2022, killed two people. Caller Times
