- ➤ City crews are preparing for the 2025 Rally Night Parade at Buc Days as the Buc Days Stadium Show airs at 7 p.m. at Buc Stadium and the parade starts at 8 p.m. Officials said the parade route runs from Leopard Street near Buccaneer Stadium to Water's Edge Park and that chalk markings for viewing spots are allowed on April 19 while setup begins after 5 p.m. on April 25 and at 8 a.m. on April 26. - ➤ Tractor Supply Company broke ground on its new Mathis store today and will open by October to meet local rural needs. City Manager Cedric Davis said the project is one of the few name-brand developments in Mathis and is expected to boost local economic growth—adding a key retail presence to the area. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ Families and friends gathered at Ben's Community Market April 14 — the 11th annual Memorial Walk — to honor Mostafa 'Ben' Bighamian, who was killed in a 2014 robbery, and remember other victims of violent crime. Caller Times

- ➤ The city began a $4.7M reconstruction project on Timbergate Drive in early April to ease heavy traffic and poor road conditions on the south side. - ➤ Over 250 international students at Texas colleges lost their legal status in the SEVIS system, with UT reporting 176 cases and Texas A&M 38.
