- ➤ Former Buc Days scholarship recipient Bella Rizo is now working as an events intern for the nonprofit behind Corpus Christi's biggest celebration as Buc Days returns next week. She gets a behind-the-scenes look at a year-long planning process that shows her commitment to giving back to the community. Action 10 News
- ➤ Last weekend, about 500 people joined CASA of the Coastal Bend’s annual Superhero 5K in Corpus Christi to support foster children by raising funds and awareness for advocacy (marking its 21st year). Action 10 News
- ➤ Grow Local South Texas will host an Earth Day market tomorrow at its farmers' market featuring local food, live music, food trucks and a cooking demonstration by Chef Sarah Flores. Samples at 6:00 p.m. + a $5 Grow Buck for the 100 adults and family seed planting mark the event. Action 10 News
- ➤ Bubba's 33 restaurants donate 100% of dine-in and to-go profits tomorrow, April 22, to the American Eagle Foundation for bird protection. The fundraiser includes free Kids Meals for children who complete coloring sheets at participating locations & partnerships with local schools and churches; 2025 collections reached $123,000. - ➤ Get Faded barber shop held haircuts and services on Monday to raise funds for the family of 17-year-old Jacob (JJ) Serna, who was fatally shot in Corpus Christi. KIII-TV

- ➤ Mireles Elementary special education teacher Victoria Smith was honored Monday by the Corpus Christi Hooks and Reliant Energy as one of 10 educators in the Reliant All-Star Educators program. She won a shopping spree at Mardels and will be recognized at an upcoming Hooks game. Action 10 News
- ➤ Robstown ISD will ask voters to approve a referendum that refinances its $9 million M&O debt to save $3.4 million without raising taxes. Early voting starts in May at Johnny S. Calderon Nueces County Center — the move will help maintain funding for classrooms and staff. Action 10 News
- ➤ Kaffie Middle School's four students were named Texas winners in the Presidential AI Challenge today for designing a ring that uses AI to track water usage and detect leaks, inspired by Corpus Christi's water crisis; they developed the idea in teacher Cynthia Hopkins' engineering class (recognized during an AI showcase). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Corpus Christi city leaders are reviewing a draft water emergency plan that would restrict vehicle washing and lawn watering to protect the water supply against drought, with fines up to $500 per day for each violation. The City Council will discuss the plan at Tuesday’s meeting. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Corpus Christi will close several streets & limit parking from April 25 to May 12 for the Buc Days Carnival & Night Parade. Additional closures on key streets for parade viewing will take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on April 25. Action 10 News
