A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Clyde Clifton McMeans, a Banquete native killed on the USS California during Pearl Harbor, will be buried with full military honors at 1 p.m. May 1 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery + his family will hold a funeral at 11 a.m. at River Hills Baptist Church.

Skywatchers in Corpus Christi can see the Lyrids meteor shower at its peak today, with 10-20 meteors per hour and occasional bright fireballs.

The shower appears between midnight and dawn away from city lights as Earth passes through comet Thatcher's debris trail.
