- ➤ Corpus Christi teachers will be offered a free Whataburger breakfast during Teacher Appreciation Week from May 5th to 9th when they show a valid school ID for dine-in, take-out & drive-thru orders, with service available from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day. KIII-TV
- ➤ At NAS Corpus Christi, the free Winger Over South Texas Air Show will take place on May 10 with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels performing at 3:00 p.m. after a break since 2019—over 60,000 spectators are expected and guests must follow on-site rules, bring a valid photo ID, and decide between personal or paid seating. - ➤ Plans for a plea deal fell through for Paul Villarreal, the 22-year-old accused of shooting and killing Adam Burns during an altercation on Burney Drive in 2023—his case will head to trial with no set date. KRIS 6 News

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Gregory-Portland ISD is asking voters to approve a four-part bond package on the May ballot that funds school safety upgrades, technology improvements and a new $60 million visual and performing arts center—developed with stakeholder input to support growing enrollment and career programs. Early voting ended Tuesday, April 29 while Election Day is set for May 3 and the district will keep its tax rate at $1.10. KIII-TV
