- ➤ Chacho’s Tacos on Ayers Street (which had served Corpus Christi for 24 years) closed its doors today after offering signature dishes such as the Almighty Chacho’s Taco and chicken fried steak. Many loyal customers visited Friday morning to place a final order (sharing cherished memories) while owner Mary Gutierrez said plans for a new location are in place. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ Corpus Christi International Airport has finalized a code-share agreement that lets Aerus Airlines use Viva Aerobus’s ticketing system so direct flights to Monterrey will resume in July while the airline upgrades from a nine- to a 12-seat plane. Flight schedules will be available in mid-June—local leaders expect this new partnership to open the door to more international routes. KIII-TV

- ➤ Corpus Christi police arrested four individuals, seized 125 gambling devices, and confiscated over $12,000 in cash after raiding Pure Game Room on Southside on Thursday shortly after 2:00 p.m.—a move following a months-long investigation into illegal gambling. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ Corpus Christi elementary student Londyn Delbosque (from Gloria Hicks Elementary) was named the Kindest Kid in America by a program that rewards kindness and fights bullying, and she received a book about her life (co-authored by a local junior high student) as part of the honor. KRIS 6 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Corpus Christi has launched an AI-powered chatbot called Ask Cece—designed to provide round-the-clock support and access to city information on its website. Residents can receive help in 75 languages and have service requests forwarded to city staff for further assistance. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ The City Council approved over $2 million for Animal Care Services and a comprehensive study by Citygate Associates to modernize operations—65 recommendations will be phased in over five years, including 28 that need further Council approval. The plan aims to improve staffing, facilities, and animal care quality throughout the department. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Today, thirteen Corpus Christi police officers retired at a ceremony at the Training Academy on Yorktown, including Assistant Chief Mark Schauer who served for over 40 years (he plans to stay active by teaching at A&M and running near the beach). KRIS 6 News
