- ➤ Sevendust and Theory of a Deadman will perform at Concrete Street Pavilion on Saturday, Sept. 12 as part of their Dead/Seven Tour with Return to Dust as special guests; tickets cost $40 (plus fees) and general sales begin Friday, May 8 at 10 a.m. CT with artist presales starting today. - ➤ On May 5, Menger Elementary Principal Christina Barrera was named a national distinguished principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals during a ceremony at her school (she was surprised by the news). She will attend a national event in Washington, D.C. Caller Times

- ➤ TxDOT narrowed two proposals for a Padre Island crossing; residents in Sea Pines and Flour Bluff oppose the plan that builds a new bridge through Sea Pines (neighbors favor expanding the existing bridge with a second level). KRIS 6 News
- ➤ City Council voted on Tuesday to have staff review AXE H2O's proposal for a new desalination plant + some members expressed concerns about details while others supported exploring new water options ahead of the June Inner Harbor vote. KIII-TV
