- ➤ Corpus Christi police say they arrested 41-year-old Adam Salazar for the May 5 shooting of a 45-year-old man in a Southside neighborhood—police report it was an act of family violence and note there is no ongoing public threat. Caller Times

- ➤ HB-4801 is a proposed bill to recruit doctors for Nueces County that has drawn concern after CHRISTUS Spohn’s suggested changes limit grant funds to select hospitals—supporters fear the limits may reduce care options. The bill cleared committee on April 30 with a 10-1 vote and will be scheduled for debate on the Texas House floor. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Corpus Christi police officer Marco Ramirez was named one of 10 top officers nationally for the TOP COPS Award after his heroic efforts to aid fellow officer Kyle Hicks, who later died from a shooting during a domestic dispute.
