- ➤ The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend is hosting a Reverse Telethon on Friday, May 16 and needs volunteers to answer calls, spread the word, or donate as funds raised will support scholarships for its summer programs. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Corpus Christi Animal Control has Marco, a friendly, neutered, black-and-white husky about one year old who loves treats and needs a home with a big backyard for running and playing. The shelter welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to help find a new family for him. Action 10 News

- ➤ A new Chipotle is being built on the southside at the corner of Saratoga and Cimmaron Drive and will open before the year's end. The restaurant is part of a larger development that includes a convenience store and more eateries — an effort to extend the chain’s local reach. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ George Nicholas Baermann, a 41 year old man, remains in custody with bail set at $250,000 after he drove his truck into a golf cart on Pole K on the Port Aransas beach Saturday, killing 61 year old Heather Miller—he reportedly failed a sobriety test and admitted drinking at a bar on his way home from work. - ➤ Downtown Corpus Christi will host its 4th annual Mural Festival starting June 1 with five new murals painted by four national artists and a local artist collective led by Michelle Smith — the event will refresh downtown surfaces and draw in residents and visitors, and the next ArtWalk will take place on June 6. - ➤ Corpus Christi Cathedral will close for restoration on Monday, May 26 as the Diocese begins a comprehensive renovation that will install a new baptismal font, altar, pews, flooring and upgraded light and sound systems—weekend masses will be held at Sacred Heart Church from May 31 while daily services continue at the Emmanuel Chapel.
