- ➤ CASA of the Coastal Bend is holding its 20th Superhero 5K at Heritage Park on May 17 starting at 8 a.m.—nearly 400 people have signed up to run, walk, or dress as superheroes to raise funds for foster children. - ➤ Corpus Christi Independent School District confirmed that two elementary schools face aging infrastructure issues such as leaking roofs, failing plumbing and deteriorating portables—district officials said the campuses will remain safe for students through the 2025 to 2026 school year. Officials estimated that immediate repairs will cost $11 million and that planning for longer-term solutions is underway. KRIS 6 News
