  • Corpus Christi city officials say five splash pads and six pools will open on May 30 and run through Aug. 9 despite drought concerns; facilities will use recycling systems & additives to manage water use.  Caller Times

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Texas jumped from $2.55 to $4.52 after global supply disruptions hurt oil shipping, impacting local drivers. Oil companies' profits have soared, and prices may not return to normal for six to nine months until markets rebalance.  The Texas Tribune

  • Del Mar College honored EMS and paramedic students at a pinning ceremony tonight—marking months of training and readiness to serve Corpus Christi and surrounding communities—and graduates and family celebrated this milestone.  KIII-TV
  • Corpus Christi Independent School District released its 2026 graduation schedule for high schools at Veterans Memorial High School Auditorium, Hilliard Center Arena and the Selena Auditorium at Hilliard Center.   • Rockport-Fulton ISD broke ground Monday at Pirate Baseball Stadium for new turf baseball and softball fields funded by a nearly $2 million donation from Tim and Debbie Chapman - the fields will be named in their honor as construction begins immediately to benefit student-athletes.  Action 10 News
