  • Corpus Christi risks running out of water by April 2027 because its western water supplies are being drained by high consumption and evaporation – studies show that combined lake levels will drop below 10% by November. City leaders have launched projects like upgrading a pipeline and drilling new wells – yet these actions will not fully meet demand unless new water sources are secured.  KIII-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Councilwoman Sylvia Campos announced on Facebook that the water supply for the Mary Rhodes Pipeline from the Lower Colorado River Authority was shut down due to severe drought. The city will switch to water from Lake Texana to operate the pipeline at pumping schedule 4—drawing over 70 million gallons per day—and she urged industries to lower production by 10% to conserve water.  KRIS 6 News
