  • Veterans Memorial High School seniors walked the halls of Mireles Elementary today during the traditional Senior Walk as they received cheers from students and teachers. The graduates look ahead to their ceremony on Saturday, May 30 at the Hilliard Center.  KRIS 6 News

  • A storm hit Coastal Bend today, leaving thousands without power as AEP crews restore electricity in Nueces County and five other counties. Local authorities report the area is experiencing the worst outages + repair crews continue to work.  KIII-TV

  • Melinda De Los Santos, a Bay Area homeowner who uses 1,000 gallons monthly, questions strict water rules as the city prepares a level one emergency plan by Jun 2nd. She will raise her concerns at Friday’s water briefing, arguing residents should control their water allotment (noting property damage).  Action 10 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi has expanded its pediatric neurosurgery treatments and begun researching stroke rates by analyzing 10 years of data and introducing MRI-guided laser ablation therapy. The program—led by two pediatric neurosurgeons—has tripled its caseload and will soon host neurosurgery residents from UTMB.  Caller Times
  • Corpus Christi Medical Center will open its Gallery of Strength exhibit on June 1 at the Bay Area Atrium (3315 S. Alameda Street) as part of National Trauma Survivors Day to honor trauma survivors by sharing stories of recovery.  Action 10 News
