  • Nearly 500 customers in Corpus Christi’s Molina neighborhood lost power for over 24 hours after severe storms hit on Wednesday+ AEP planned to restore service by Thursday evening while residents dealt with heat and concerns over spoiled food.  Action 10 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Restoration work is underway at the historic Ritz Theatre on North Chaparral in downtown Corpus Christi. Skilled artisans are restoring a key section with decorative painting + plaster repair techniques over about three weeks to guide the entire rehabilitation.  KRIS 6 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Corpus Christi ISD hosted multiple graduation ceremonies for its 2,525 seniors on May 29 and is holding additional events today at Hilliard Center Arena (livestreams are available on YouTube), with Coles High’s ceremony set for June 4 and a summer graduation scheduled for July 30.  Caller Times

  • Coastal Bend pet owners are battling a severe flea outbreak that makes traditional treatments ineffective for dogs with sensitive skin, while local groups P.A.A.C. and STAR Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic provide affordable care and recommendations such as diatomaceous earth (a natural treatment) and hypoallergenic shampoos.  KRIS 6 News
