- ➤ Mandy's Pub and Social on the Southside will offer free meals to families in need this summer—serving wings, loaded fries, and smash burgers Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. as rising food costs push more locals to seek help. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Two Corpus Christi restaurant owners Javier Rocha and Alex Arredondo announced plans to serve free meals to children in preschool to high school during summer break using their El Vago Burger BBQ locations—at 4701 Barerra Drive and 322 N. Stales St—to help feed kids in need. They invite community members to donate food or cash during business hours to support the initiative. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ Five new murals will be unveiled at a block party in south downtown on Saturday, June 7 from 3-9 p.m. as part of the 2025 Mural Fest. The event is organized by the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District and K Space Contemporary — bringing local and national artists together to refresh downtown with new public art. - ➤ The Texas State Aquarium is moving sensitive animals indoors to protect them from noise, dust, and debris when officials give notice to demolish the old Harbor Bridge. Staff have spent nearly a year training animals like otters, sea turtles, and dolphins to voluntarily enter transport systems and using cranes to help move those that need assistance—ensuring they stay safe during the relocation, which is expected to last about a month. - ➤ Corpus Christi ISD will hold a public hearing on June 9 at 3:30 p.m. in the administration building board room to review the proposed 2025-26 budget, which shows a $21.8 million deficit and state-mandated teacher raises of $2,500 or $5,000 + the district will maintain its tax rate at $0.9583 per $100 of assessed value while tax decisions are set for a separate meeting in August. - ➤ The Texas State Aquarium and Raising Cane’s are partnering to fund wildlife rescue at the Port Corpus Christi Center for Wildlife Rescue. Every Friday in June from 12 to 8 p.m. (including today), customers who mention Texas State Aquarium at Raising Cane’s (5425 S. Padre Island Dr. in Corpus Christi or 3044 US-181 in Portland) will help donate 15% of net proceeds to the center. Action 10 News
- ➤ Because of the drought, water in Lake Corpus Christi is lowering and showing old bridges, roads, and a boathouse from the 1930s; historian Conrad Conrad (a local expert) said these finds reveal a hidden past beneath the water. KIII-TV

Henry, a lawyer from Corpus Christi, said Mayor Paulette Guajardo and councilmen Roland Barrera and Mark Scott are blocking his $12.5 million naming rights offer for the American Bank Center as the city faces a $7 million shortfall next year. He asked that the naming deal be put to a public vote and the process made clearer — the city said Oak View Group manages the decision. KIII-TV
