- ➤ Corpus Christi’s food scene welcomes many new options this month—Cinnamon Shore now offers New American seafood by restaurateur Jason Stout, Divina Dulzura Bakery opens its second drive thru location, and Thunderbird Fine Wine & Spirits has debuted downtown. Brewster Street Ice House plans a summer waterfront opening, Pop’s Tavern will appear on America’s Best Restaurants today at 5 p.m., and Bien Mérité macarons are available at select HEB stores. - ➤ A ribbon cutting ceremony marked the opening of the new County Road 44 bridge in Robstown—this bridge replaces infrastructure destroyed by heavy rain two years ago and includes drainage improvements to reduce flooding risk. - ➤ Texas’ largest bridge will have its southbound lanes open by the end of June—northbound drivers will use the old bridge with a temporary connector for those coming from Portland. Crews are installing new signage and road striping ahead of a June 28 ribbon-cutting as the phased rollout helps drivers adjust to the new traffic flow. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ The Corpus Christi city council approved most of the multi-million dollar makeover for Animal Care Services today, including nearly $1 million for air conditioning improvements and funding for three full-time positions, but set aside the $821,000 parking lot plan for further review—Council Member Carolyn Vaughn requested estimates for using asphalt instead of concrete. City Manager Peter Zanoni said the parking discussion will return in about a month—these improvements come after a report identified 170 concern areas at the facility. Action 10 News
