- ➤ Corpus Christi pitmaster — Pete Trevino — and five local bars organized a BBQ fundraiser at Politics Bar to send money and supplies to Kerr County flood victims, offering a pulled pork sandwich for $15 with chips and a drink. The event started Saturday and will continue through the weekend as the team supports recovery efforts. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Co-owner of Politics said they have delivered 200 cases of water and will make more trips to hard-hit areas—efforts that help raise relief funds through the benefit. KIII-TV
- ➤ Local pit master Pete Trevino brought his BBQ pit Big Bertha to the south side for a pulled pork sandwich cook-off fundraiser to send supplies to Kerrville flood victims—five local businesses joined the effort. Once the last sandwich is sold, the team will load supplies onto a 43-foot trailer donated by Hard Life Bait and Tackle and deliver them tomorrow—supporting those affected by the flood. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ City officials are considering a deal to convert brackish groundwater from a cotton field in Driscoll into drinking water if approved in September, while local critics warn the project could discharge up to 10 million gallons of brine daily into Baffin Bay — an ecosystem prized for its large speckled trout — and harm local fisheries.
