- ➤ Padre Island community members and local officials support plans for the island’s first skate park but noted that no timeline has been set as funding and detailed planning are still pending — council members and local leaders stressed that the project remains in its early stages. KIII-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police investigated an early morning shooting at the Lulac Village Place Apartments off Horne Road when a 20-year-old man was shot during an argument (he is expected to make a full recovery) and the suspect is expected to face aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. KRIS 6 News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents, fishing guides, and environmentalists spoke at a Corpus Christi council meeting Tuesday to protest a water project that would let Seven Seas Water dump a million gallons of waste daily into Bahía de Baffin. They are asking for an independent environmental study before the project moves forward — officials said they are carrying out proper checks. Action 10 News

- ➤ Today, the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association committee voted 5—2 to recommend no rate increase for coastal homeowners in the Coastal Bend after state legislation improved its finances. The full board will decide on final changes next month. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ Nueces County and more than 20 community health organizations will host Operation Health & Wellness 2025, a weeklong event offering no-cost medical, dental, and vision services for residents in Corpus Christi and Robstown from July 21 through July 26.
