- ➤ Two local businesses, Candy Andy and House of Blendz, teamed up today in Corpus Christi to distribute hundreds of backpacks loaded with school supplies to students. The drive featured vendors offering free haircuts—an effort to boost confidence ahead of school starting August 11. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ A free barbecue event for veterans will take place to help them heal; it offers 40 spots on a first-come, first-served basis (registration is via a QR code) and is free for both veterans and their families. KIII-TV
- ➤ 9-year-old Lilly Underbrink raised $142 at her neighborhood lemonade stand and donated the money to flood victims in Kerr County. Her family delivered the donation to Whataburger—where Lilly received free breakfast and goodies in return. Action 10 News

- ➤ The 66th Annual Feria de las Flores Royal Court appeared on Domingo Live to share their first royal experiences—and explain what being crowned royalty means for them. KIII-TV
- ➤ LULAC Council 1 members attended an early screening of Los Tejanos: A 500-Year History today at Del Mar College’s Wolfe Recital Hall — the film uses decades of research and local interviews to highlight Tejano heritage.
