- ➤ Whataburger will mark its 75th anniversary by offering a classic burger for 75 cents on National Whataburger Day, August 8, available to rewards members from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.—limited to one per account—and will also release commemorative cups starting August 5 with weekly designs until August 19. - ➤ Corpus Christi police said a stabbing victim was found near Ayers Market — they are aware of a suspect though no arrest has been made yet. KIII-TV
- ➤ Daniel Lopez (28), owner of Dirty Dan's Dumpsters, was arrested near Robstown for allegedly dumping roofing materials illegally after a neighbor reported a social media post, and his bond was set at $10,000 while Dawson's Recycling & Disposal handled the cleanup. KRIS 6 News
- ➤ Attorneys reached a settlement in lawsuits tied to a 2022 wrong-way crash on the old Harbor Bridge that killed two people—providing compensation to the victims' families as officials continue to investigate the role of Railroad Seafood & Brewing Co. in serving alcohol to an intoxicated driver. - ➤ Nueces County Commissioner Brent Chesney said the Bob Hall Pier reconstruction is about 60% complete and will reopen for fishing by the end of this year—restoring a site damaged by Hurricane Hanna.
