HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Rising heat in the Coastal Bend has led the Corpus Christi Fire Department to urge residents to watch for heat exhaustion signs such as dizziness, heavy sweating, nausea, or weakness—by moving affected individuals to cooler areas, loosening clothing, and hydrating regularly—and to call 911 immediately if heat stroke symptoms like confusion or unconsciousness appear. - ➤ A new brain-controlled device gives stroke survivors hope by using a headset to detect movement signals and rebuild brain connections—occupational therapists announced that clinical screenings will soon determine who qualifies for the technology, which is already FDA cleared but not fully approved.
