- ➤ City officials in Corpus Christi are looking at whether to start an outside probe after an auditor found that hotel developers likely changed a FEMA document to get $2 million in tax money for a new downtown hotel — the memo from George Holland raised concerns — and a lawsuit by a rival developer has added pressure for clear answers. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ TAMUCC hosted a topping out ceremony on August 26 for its new 85,000-square-foot Arts and Media building where students and faculty signed a steel beam before it was raised. The facility — which includes a 200-seat recital hall for the music, theatre and dance programs — will open by summer 2026. KRIS 6 News

- ➤ City officials and Flour Bluff ISD met Monday with 70 community members to talk about shortened hours at the Janet F. Harte Library due to a state law change that cut operating time from 44 to 28 hours a week. Councilman Mark Scott and City Manager Peter Zanoni said they reviewed ideas—including building a stand-alone library on the 2026 bond that would take about four years to complete. KRIS 6 News
