Good morning, Corpus Christi.

Today, a community walk in honor of Cristian Rodriguez begins its seventh year in Corpus Christi—organizers urge those in need to call or text the 988 Crisis Lifeline.

The Corpus Christi community gathered yesterday to support 8-year-old Hero Rodriguez who faces a rare congenital heart condition—Ebstein anomaly—and whose family is raising funds for a life-saving surgery in Minnesota.

The benefit was hosted by the VFW and Big Bertha Foundation by Pete Trevino and saw overwhelming local support.

Four Corpus Christi residents explained why Hispanic Heritage Month is important—each person shared how the celebration honors local traditions and cultural pride.

Hundreds gathered Saturday at Grant Middle School for a mental health walk honoring 14-year-old Cristian Rodriguez—who died by suicide in 2018—in the seventh annual event organized by his mother, Christine Martinez to spark conversation about mental health among local youth.
