COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The playground at Rancho Vista Park has been fenced off since May after a safety check found the equipment unsafe, leaving local families without a play space. City officials will install temporary equipment—rock wall, swing sets, and picnic areas—by December while planning a full replacement for 2029.  KRIS 6 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Two Sinton ISD parents have alleged that the district may have violated FERPA by mistakenly sharing a student's transcript with another parent's grievance packet and that ongoing administrative failures have affected fair access to courses. They are calling for an independent investigation—while the district maintains it has followed all guidelines and will continue using last year's grading policy.  KRIS 6 News
  • Del Mar College is partnering with TAMUCC to offer a local architect transfer program that lets students complete two years at Del Mar College — then spend three years with TAMUCC faculty; the program, one of only nine in Texas, will start next fall with some students expected to graduate as early as 2029.  KRIS 6 News

  • The American Cancer Society plans to relaunch its Road to Recovery ride program in the Coastal Bend but needs five local volunteer drivers to help cancer patients get to treatment—volunteers must be at least 18, have a valid driver’s license, and drive a safe, reliable car.  KRIS 6 News
