- ➤ Thousands attended the 'No Kings' protest along Shoreline Boulevard near Water's Edge Park on Oct. 18 — organizers described the event as a stand against what they considered authoritarian policies. Caller Times
- ➤ South Texas Botanical Gardens has a new hay maze for fall—designed for the fifth consecutive year by the Ocean Drive Garden Club. The maze gives visitors a fun way to enjoy a seasonal display. KIII-TV
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A new Community Food Vendor Incubator Pilot Program will let one local vendor run a concession stand at Hilliard Center every three to six months starting spring to help struggling food trucks gain exposure and crucial training — applicants must be Corpus Christi vendors without a brick-and-mortar store. Selected vendors will receive guidance on food safety, venue operations, POS systems and marketing support. Action 10 News

- ➤ South Texas Botanical Gardens hosted a haunted trail walk on October 17 and will hold another on October 24—staff guided visitors among snakes and tarantulas—as part of its Boo-tanical Halloween events. The annual Hay-Maze opened on October 18 for its final season, and on Halloween night kids in costumes will pay half-price admission with ticket proceeds supporting animal care. KRIS 6 News
