- ➤ On Oct. 28th and today, hundreds of veterans gathered at Shady Rest Ranch in Freer for the Venison for Veterans event, which combined deer hunting, fellowship and church services under Field of Dreams Christian Ministries. - ➤ Corpus Christi Animal Care Services spotlights Harmony as this week’s Pet of the Week—she is a 3-year-old spayed German Shepherd mix weighing 38 lbs with a negative heartworm test result and has been at the shelter since Oct. 10. - ➤ Coastal Bend Food Bank is receiving $310,000 from H-E-B’s $5 million donation to Texas food banks—funds that will help keep meals on tables for local families. KIII-TV
