COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Agape Ranch is teaming up with local coffee shops along the Coastal Bend for the Sleeves of Support campaign to raise awareness for foster and vulnerable children during National Adoption Month. Several participating shops are providing coffee sleeves with QR codes that offer information on foster care—helping the community support families in need.  KRIS 6 News
  • Downtown Sinton will host its inaugural Sip & Stroll event tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event aims to boost local businesses & attract tourism by featuring vendors such as pop-ups, food trucks, artisans & a bounce house as the community recovers after recent fires.  KRIS 6 News
  • Bubba's 33 in Corpus Christi will offer a free lunch to veterans and active military on Veterans Day—November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—with raincheck vouchers available from 9:00 a.m. to noon for those who cannot attend.  KRIS 6 News

  • Santa Claus visited La Palmera mall in Corpus Christi on November 6th — he will stay until he departs for the North Pole on Christmas Eve.  Caller Times
  • Corpus Christi Greek Fest is back this weekend—bringing locals together to enjoy traditional music, dance and food in celebration of Greek culture.  KIII-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Del Mar College hosted a Region 2 luncheon honoring area schools and JROTC programs for earning Purple Star status—recognizing their support for military-connected students.  KIII-TV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On November 1, a huge hailstorm hurt over 2,000 birds on roosting islands in Corpus Christi Bay, and rescue teams are trying to help injured birds (some are too badly hurt to save).  Caller Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Nueces River Authority moved into design and planning for a multibillion-dollar desalination plant on Harbor Island that will produce up to 100 million gallons of drinking water a day and 16 communities, including Corpus Christi, paid nonrefundable fees to reserve future access. They asked the state for $300 million in early 2025 and if approved, construction is expected to begin in 2027 so that water reaches the Coastal Bend by the end of December 2029 — a project that could secure water supplies for South Texas.  KIII-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • The U.S. Multihull Championship sails into Corpus Christi — featuring 85 competitors and promising a $200K boost to the local economy — while focusing on sustainability and community.  KIII-TV
  • Rockport-Fulton, holding a 3-0 district record, will visit Pirate Stadium Friday night and will secure the title with a win — if Sinton wins and Cuero defeats Robstown, a three-team tie will force a coin-flip decision.  Action 10 News
