- ➤ Red Dragon Pirate Cruises in Port Aransas has named 21-year-old Captain Poison — the first female pirate ship captain in the Coastal Bend. She earned her 100-ton inland license last November and will lead summer cruises that inspire local youth. Action 10 News
- ➤ Corpus Christi boxing coach Ernesto “Coach” Hernandez Chavarria Sr. died at 69 after gallbladder surgery complications — he spent his life offering free training to local youth and kept several gyms open with community fundraisers.
